Nintendo announces Legend of Zelda/Dynasty Warriors crossover dubbed Hyrule Warriors

Earlier in today’s Nintendo Direct Nintendo announced their newest Legend of Zelda title in development by Tecmo Koei. Given the working, non-final title “Hyrule Warriors,” the game features the gameplay of the Dynasty Warriors series with the iconic items, enemies, and locations from the Legend of Zelda Series.

Specifically it looks like it takes its enemies and art style primarily from Skyward Sword, with Skyward Sword style Bokoblins making up the bulk of the enemies; but Link is also shown fighting a fire-breathing Skyward Sword-style Lizalfos and even a King Dodongo who seems to have the same moves he had in Ocarina of Time. Most of the action seems to take place in and around Hyrule Castle. The addition of King Dodongo gives off a very Ocarina of Time vibe to the game as well.

Link is shown taking out scores of these enemies at once in true Dynasty Warriors style using series staples such as bombs, the fire rod, the spin attack and even Skyward Strikes and some sort of upgraded spin attack.

So what do you think of this? Does it look interesting to you? Are you a fan of the Dynasty Warriors series? Let us know in the comments!
