A look at the history of Super Mario Maker [VIDEO]

As of late Nintendo has a habit of announcing games well before they’re ready to play, something that has been plaguing the Wii U since its launch in 2012. Despite how good Super Mario Maker was when we finally got our hands on it, it was a very long wait from the announcement at 2014 to the release a year later.

Beta64 takes a hands-on look at that announcement, as well as the various trailers produced by Nintendo to advertise the game during the course of development. Unsurprisingly, the game changed a lot from its initial inception at E3 2014 to the release version we got earlier this year in September.

This is a good look at the way Nintendo designs can change over the course of a year and provides some interesting insight into how the final product has changed from its initial announcement.
