Today marks the second birthday for the Nintendo Wii U, just a few days short of Super Smash Bros. releasing for the console. The first few months of the console’s life were marked by tons of holiday interest, which quickly died down after the holiday season was over. Despite Nintendo of America president Reggie Fils-Aime promising no drought of Wii U games, several key titles like Rayman Legends and Pikmin 3 were delayed.

Despite its rough start, the Wii U has managed to sell over 7 million consoles to date and we still have amazing titles to look forward to seeing on the system, including the upcoming Super Smash Bros., The Legend of Zelda game, Xenoblade Chronicles X, and brand new IPs like Splatoon. The Wii U may have had a rough start but it’s finally finding its place as a console that offers a gaming experience you just can’t get anywhere else.
