One of the hallmarks of the original Guitar Hero series was its focus on classic rock songs, from the height of the genre in the 60s and 70s with hundreds of famous artists. Some of them even received spin-off series dedicated solely to their albums. Aerosmith, Van Halen, and even Metallica received their own band-centric games when the music genre was at the height of its popularity, but after the decline many people cited the lack of more modern songs from the series as one of its downfalls.
That seems to be changing with the most recent reveal, as we can see the move away from the classic rock roots of the series to explore several different genres of music. The first playlist screenshot was revealed today, with a Spotify playlist featuring the songs. If you’re curious what you’ll experience in the new Guitar Hero Live, be sure to give these tracks a listen.
