GameStop’s Black Friday deals for Wii U are garbage

With Black Friday just around the corner, many people are starting to look at retailers who are advertising their best deals. For those who have a Wii U on your list for yourself, or perhaps a family member, GameStop isn’t the place to go for deals on Nintendo games. The retailer’s Wii U Black Friday deals have leaked online and despite having several pages dedicated to the many deals on offer for Xbox One and PlayStation 4 gamers, the Wii U section is sadly bare of any good deals.

The console on offer is the Super Mario 3D World bundle that includes Nintendo Land. This bundle released last year and GameStop is not offering a deal on it at all. It’s marked at the typical retail price of $299. They’re not even throwing in any extra games, similar to what Target and Best Buy are doing for their console bundles.

On the game front, it’s not much better. In the back of the GameStop catalogue buried on pages 7 and 8 are the Wii U games, with only five of the titles being actual recent releases. Four of them are not even on sale. Those that are on sale include Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric, and Just Dance 2015. This is a pitiful display for a sale and GameStop should really be ashamed of itself, especially considering how hard it is working on peddling the PlayStation 4 and the Xbox One this holiday season.

Do yourselves a favor and buy your Wii U games and consoles elsewhere this holiday season, since it’s obvious GameStop isn’t offering Wii U gamers the same deals others will receive. Looking for somewhere else to shop? Be sure to check out our Wii U Black Friday deals page.
