It seems game rental service GameFly may have outed 505 Games’ plan to release Terraria on the Wii U later this year. Currently there is a listing up on the GameFly website with a release date of October 31st. The box art for the game is listed as Coming Soon, so perhaps Terraria will be seeing a retail release. This is great news for fans who have been clamoring for Minecraft on the Wii U, as Terraria is a 2D sandbox game that features building and crafting very similar to Mojang-turned-Microsoft’s indie hit.
While release dates listed like this are typically place holder, we wouldn’t be surprised to see an announcement from 505 Games soon concerning this, if it turns out to be true. Would you play Terraria on the Wii U?
