Former Rare devs form new studio and announce Project Ukulele

A handful of former Rare developers have banded together to form a new studio, called Playtonic Games. Talent includes the programmer from Donkey Kong Country and the character designer on Banjo-Kazooie, as well as a handful of other members to fill out the studio. The new team announced Project Ukulele, which is hinted at being a spiritual successor to the Banjo-Kazooie series. Here’s the brief paragraph on the team’s website:

Playtonic’s the name, and fun games, unique characters and absolutely-frickin-amazing worlds to explore are our game. Or at least they will be, once we eventually get around to releasing our first project instead of faffing around on WordPress.

Are you excited about the potential of a new Banjo-Kazooie successor? Microsoft still owns the Banjo-Kazooie IP, so whatever this team creates will have to be something entirely new, but if the mechanics and silliness of the original games remain intact, would you be interested in the game? Let us know in the comments!
