Epic Games boss would be “shocked if the Wii U doesn’t do well”

Epic games Wii U
Speaking at the Game Developers Conference, Epic Games’ Vice President Mark Rein said that he’d be “shocked if the Wii U doesn’t do well”. Rein praised the Wii U, saying he played Batman Arkham City on it and was impressed by the controller. Rein also said, speaking to Eurogamer:

“Do you remember the Zelda demo they had on it? Would you not buy a Wii U just to play that? Of course you would. That’s what Nintendo is all about. Their hardware is the software delivery service for their great content. That Zelda demo was gorgeous and we can do even more than that with Unreal Engine 3. I think it will do great.”

Naturally, Rein would praise the Wii U, considering many games on the console will run using Epic’s Unreal Engine 3, which was made available for the Wii U last year. When it came to answering questions about Epic making games for the Wii U, Rein carefully dodged the question, saying that they’d love to do games for all platforms, but they don’t have the resources to do so. We’ve previously reported that Epic Games was “very interested in the Wii U“.
