EA: we are going to see more FIFA games on Switch

EA is bringing FIFA 18 to the Switch later this month, and it likely won’t be the last FIFA game on the console.

That’s according to FIFA supervising producer Andrei Lazarescu, who told GameSpot that it’s likely we’ll see more FIFA games on the Switch in the future.

“I think we are going to see more FIFA on Switch in the future”, he told GameSpot, adding that he believes FIFA 18 on the Switch is “the best portable FIFA game we’ve ever done.”

He also explained why the Journey mode isn’t available on the Switch. It’s because it’s created using the Frostbite engine, which cannot run on the Switch.

Instead, EA made a custom engine for the Switch, which runs the game at 1080p and 60 frames per second when docked, and 720p and 60 fps in portable mode.

Last month, EA CEO said that they are open to releasing more games on the Switch if FIFA is successful.

So it appears that a lot is riding on the success of FIFA 18 on the Switch.
