Curve Digital has been a long time supporter of Nintendo, thanks to its open indie policy. The team at Curve has worked with several high profile indie developers in order to bring ports of their games to the Wii U eShop. Titles like Thomas Was Alone and Lone Survivor wouldn’t be on the Wii U without their help, and their in-house developed titles Stealth Inc. and the Wii U exclusive Stealth Inc. 2: A Clone in the Dark is set to continue their catalogue of great games.
But that’s not all the team plans, says marketing manager Rob Clarke. In a recent interview with Nintendo Life, Clarke mentioned that the reason Curve likes to focus on smaller indies is because as a larger studio, they have more resources that can help solo developers get their game on the Nintendo eShop. Especially in situations where the developer may not have had the time or the money to consider the platform. To that degree, the team has six games they’re working on for Wii U next year.
Next year we’re planning to release at least six more of those games, and we hope to bring as many of those as possible to the Wii U. Some of these will be ports, and others will be brand new releases launching on the Wii U at the same time as other consoles. We’ve already announced OlliOlli, Ultratron and Nova-111, but we’ve got at least one more brand new indie game to announce next year for the Wii U.
No single developer has helped the indie community as much as Curve Digital, so we’re excited to see which game they’ll announce next year and look forward to it being available on the Nintendo eShop.
