Many of you have been waiting for the Wii U update that’s coming this week. Nintendo did a bit of hinting over the weekend, posting pictures of previously confirmed virtual console titles like Excitebite with “2 days” written underneath it. Many people–myself included–took this to mean the update would be released after the maintenance period yesterday.
Unfortunately that turned out to be untrue, as Nintendo was simply planning to reveal the titles that will be available on the virtual console once it launches. The new speculated launch date is Friday, with the update coming on Thursday. We’ll keep you abreast of those developments. In the meantime, here are the first Wii U virtual console titles for release from Nintendo’s Facebook page:
- Donkey Kong Jr
- Ice Climber
- Excitebike
- Super Mario World
- Balloon Fight
- F-Zero
- Punch Out
- Kirby’s Adventure
Many of these have already been made available through Nintendo’s .30 cent promotion and you can currently get Kirby’s Adventure for that price. Let us know what you think of this reveal in the comments below.
