Alongside the update for Splatoon that’s launching tonight and bringing a higher level cap and private and ranked battles for friends, we also have two new weapons that will go live with the update.
The first is called the Barrel Spinner and provides a higher rate of fire and longer range than traditional shooters. It’s very similar to the weapon the Heavy uses in Team Fortress 2, which we know has been an inspiration for Nintendo when it comes to designing Splatoon. The second is the Bucket Slosher, and it’s a weapon we showed you a few weeks ago. It’s capable of slinging ink in a straight line that can go over walls and obstacles, so you can line up some pretty interesting trick splats.
