Sonic Boom: Rise of Lyric is Sega’s new effort to reboot the Sonic franchise into more than just an endless runner platform from the early 90s. It’s one of countless reboots that have failed, gamers notoriously remember Sonic ’06 as one of the worst games in the franchise. Still, Rise of Lyric looks like it could be bringing something fresh to the franchise that is in desperate need of it. Like saving cats.
Yep, in the first commercial for Sonic Boom that will feature on TV across the nation, Sonic and team have some hilariously bad ways to try and rescue a cat stuck in a tree. It’s funny and attention grabbing, which is probably just what the franchise needs. What did you think of the commercial?
