By now it’s common knowledge that without Nintendo serving as a publisher for Bayonetta 2, the game wouldn’t exist. The first game was bankrolled by Sega and released on Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3, but Sega was not interested in producing a sequel to the game. We haven’t heard Nintendo’s thoughts on producing a sequel to Bayonetta 2, but considering they pulled all the strings to make sure the first game was available along with the second, we wouldn’t be surprised to hear it.

Yusuke Hashimoto served as director for Bayonetta 2 on the Wii U and he says he’s got plenty of ideas kicking around in his head should another Bayonetta game get the green-light from Nintendo or another publisher. In a recent interview, Hashimoto was asked which game he would like to create a sequel to the most. Hashimoto quickly answered Bayonetta, with the following reasoning:

A sequel to a Platinum title… I’d have to say Bayonetta 3. I have all kinds of ideas in my head for how to expand the world of Bayonetta in even more sequels, or maybe a spin-off!

Bayonetta 2 was certainly full of character and content, so we’d like to see Platinum back to work on another title as well. What do you think? Did you enjoy Bayonetta 2 enough to warrant another game?
