The new cover of Game Informer has released today, revealing Batman: Arkham Knight as the new title in the Arkham franchise. The game is being developed by the original Arkham series developer, Rocksteady and will feature the Batmobile as a prime mechanic for the game. The only problem is that it’s not coming to Wii U. It was announced a few weeks ago that more Batman: Arkham Origins DLC for Wii U is being cancelled and we’ve known for a while that sales of the Wii U version of the game were pretty poor compared to other consoles.
According to release information provided by Game Informer, Warner Bros. Interactive is targeting PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and PC with this game release. This is the second time Warner Bros. Interactive has snubbed the Wii U when it comes to new games coming to new-gen systems. The first was with Lord of the Rings: Shadow of Mordor, which appears to be an action adventure title that takes cues from the Assassin’s Creed series.
With two new titles on the way that are not coming to the Wii U at all, it looks like Warner Bros. Interactive has completely dropped support for the console aside from the Scribblenauts and LEGO series games.
