Axiom Verge confirmed for Switch, getting physical release too

Last time we heard about Axiom Verge was when its developer called Nintendo “douches” for delaying the game’s eShop process.

It all seems to be resolved now, because Axiom Verge will be coming to the Switch. The game will be released on the Switch eShop and as a physical release.

The physical release, called Axiom Verge Multiverse Edition, includes the game, an art book, a poster, and a making-of documentary. If you pre-order the game on the Switch, you’ll get the soundtrack as well.

This version will retail for$40 on the Switch, while the Wii U version will cost $30. Once again, an indie game is more expensive on the Switch than on other platforms. This certainly isn’t the first time.

The developer originally believed that Axiom Verge could have been a launch title for the Switch, but Nintendo just didn’t approve the game on the eShop fast enough. Or maybe it had something to do with Axiom Verge’s Dan Adelman, who worked for Nintendo.

Either way, Axiom Verge will be out on the Switch in August.
