Axiom Verge is one of those titles that feels right at home on a Nintendo console. It’s a very loving tribute to Super Metroid and other Metroidvania games that spawned from it, so it’s natural to wonder if the game will ever make its way to the perfectly suited environment of the Nintendo Switch.
Nintendo has been courting indie developers heavily and relying on them for support for its new console, so it was a bit of a surprise to see Axiom Verge missing from the Nindies Trailer that showcased a few weeks ago. Dan Adelman has confirmed to NintendoLife that they’re just waiting on Nintendo, as usual.
Many fans have asked us to bring Axiom Verge to the Switch. I have reached out to my old co-workers at Nintendo of America many times, but so far we haven’t been approved for the platform yet. As soon as we get the green light, we’ll drop everything and get right to work on the Switch version.
