Arms is officially a hit: sells 1.2 million copies in two weeks

Nintendo tried something new with its Switch brawler Arms, and many wondered how the new IP would do in the current marketplace. And despite mediocre reviews, Arms is officially a hit.

That’s because the game has sold over 1 million copies from launching on June 16 until the end of June. During that time frame, the game sold 1.20 million units worldwide.

This makes it a very successful new IP launch. In fact, Arms had a better launch than the original Splatoon game.

And Nintendo is going to support the game for a while. Just a week ago, they added new features and content to the game.

The game has sold especially well in Japan, where it had the best launch for new fighting game IP in 7 years.
