Acer is not slowing down on Chromebook production! The manufacturer has released yet another version of its Acer C720 (C720-2848). It looks and works just like the last C720, but it comes with a more affordable price tag without sacrificing too much.

The new Acer Chrome OS laptop comes with a $200 price tag (older version was $250) and the only difference between this and the higher-end predecessor is the amount of RAM. The Acer C720-2848 comes with 2 GB of RAM instead of 4 GB. The rest is literally the same.

Acer C720-2848 specs

  • 11.6-inch 1366x768p display
  • 1.4 GHz Intel Celeron (Haswell)
  • 2 GB of RAM
  • 16 GB SSD
  • 1 USB 2.0 / 1 USB 3.0 ports

We should also expect the same 8.5 hours of average battery life thanks to the Haswell processor. This is literally one of the top Chromebooks in terms of battery life, and for $200 you really can’t go wrong.

Some of us may need the extra 2 GB of RAM, but if you are a casual user you will do just fine! And you can do a bunch with the $50 you will save!

You can get the Acer C720-2848 starting today. It is available from Amazon and Best Buy. I can’t find the Best Buy link online yet, but it should be going live soon. What do you guys say, is this bad boy worth the $200?
