Check out this Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars Wii U footage

Mario vs. Donkey Kong: Tipping Stars is Nintendo’s first cross-buy title between the Wii U and the Nintendo 3DS and its releasing this week on the Nintendo eShop. Cross-buy means once you buy the game on Wii U, you’ll be entitled to download the Nintendo 3DS version of the game for free. If you’re unfamiliar with the Mario vs. Donkey Kong series, they’re puzzle games where you have to achieve different goals in each level in order to complete them.

The unique thing about Tipping Stars is that it has a built-in level editor, so once you complete the game, you can dive into making your own levels and releasing them for other players to try. If players like the levels you’ve created as they play them, they can choose to “tip” you stars, which are used as a type of currency in order to buy new obstacles and make more complicated puzzles. Nintendo has been pretty fond of user-created games, as we saw with Pushmo World when it was released on the Wii U.

Will you be picking this title up when it releases this Thursday?
