With the announcement of certain Wii titles hitting the eShop in the coming weeks, it’s nice to see that Nintendo has created a way for fans to continue their saves on the new system using their downloaded game. YouTube user Maximaldo uploaded the above video, explaining that when he got his Wii U originally, he did a complete system transfer to the Wii U, which took all his save files and everything.
Upon downloading Super Mario Galaxy 2 from the Wii U eShop, the game was able to read his save on the Wii U system and he could continue where he left off in the game using the download instead of needing the disc in the Wii U and switching to Wii Mode. Since the game is perfectly capable of reading saves, we could see more Wii titles released on the Nintendo eShop to the point where Wii mode really won’t have a use anymore.
What do you think? Are there any Wii titles you’d like to see get put on the eShop sooner rather than later?
