Nintendo is allowing pre-loading of Super Smash Bros.

A few weeks back we saw Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker pop up on Nintendo’s official website with an option to pre-order digitally. While that’s great, Nintendo has taken that one step further with Super Smash Bros. by allowing you to pre-order the digital game and pre-load it onto your system 72 hours before release. You won’t be able to play the game until the official release date on November 21 for North America, but you won’t have to spend that day downloading, either!

This is a great option for people who want to go digital only and here’s how the process works, according to Nintendo:

If you pre-order on Nintendo.com, we’ll send your download code within 72 hours of the game’s launch. You can then redeem online or manually to pre-load the game. That means you’ll be able to play after a small game update when it’s officially released.

You may also pre-purchase directly from Nintendo eShop on your Wii U console and pre-load the game from there, OR purchase a download code from select retailers and pre-load to your Wii U console.

Even if you prefer to purchase a code from GameStop, it looks like you’ll be able to pre-load and be ready to Smash on the day of release. Nifty!
