Despite the first wave of amiibo not even available in consumers hands yet, Nintendo of America and Europe have announced the third wave of figures that will arrive next year in February. 11 figures will grace the shelves alongside the already revealed 18 figures. The new figures in wave three focus less on the core characters of Nintendo’s oldest franchises and instead branch out into some of the newer additions.
Included in this wave are Rosalina & Luma, Sheik, Toon Link, Bowser, Lucario, Ike, King Dedede, Meta Knight, Shulk, Sonic and Mega Man. North America will be getting all of these figures in February, while some of them will launch earlier on January 23 in Europe, while the rest release on February 20.
Here’s the split for Europe:
January 23
- Rosalina & Luma
- Sheik
- Toon Link
- Bowser
- Lucario
- Ike
February 20
- King Dedede
- Meta Knight
- Shulk
- Sonic
- Mega Man
You can check out the new trailer above to see the amiibo figures in action and to learn that some figures will be retailer exclusive. No specific examples were given and we don’t know if the Loot Crate announcement from yesterday means some figures will be exclusive to the series, but expect this to work exactly like Skylanders were retailers like Toys R’ Us, Target, and Walmart all have exclusive figures that you’ll have to hunt down to buy.
