TechCrunch says Nintendo should write off the Wii U as a failure

TechCrunch has written an editorial that is rather scathing concerning the Wii U and Nintendo. According to the author, Nintendo has failed to make great products for a number of years. Apparently the smashing success of the DS and the uptake of the 3DS mean little to the author. Here’s what’s said about the Wii U:

As of right now, it’s a colossal failure. Maybe some key holiday releases alleviate the issue. But the fact is that it’s a poor concept accentuated by poor hardware. If Nintendo was smart, they’d write it off right now.

Of course, there’s no denying that Wii U sales have been slow, but it’s interesting to see how so many are so eager to write off Nintendo just because of a slow start. It’s not like the 3DS didn’t also have a slow start, but look at it now. What do you think?
