Project Cars Director: Wii U version is about innovation

Andy Tudor, Creative Director for Project Cars, had a recent interview with NowGamer about the game and specifically mentions the following about the Wii U version:

“The gamepad just screams new innovations for gameplay and is a perfect match when thinking about using the gyroscope as a handheld wheel like in Mario Kart Wii and showing data on the screen such as a map, telemetry, speedo, or rear view mirror.

“When you couple that with Miiverse functionality and community it’s a no-brainer.”

The title is being developed for PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, but the Wii U version seems to host the definitive experience of the game–at least that’s what I gather from what Mr. Tudor is saying.  The game will run at a full 720p and 30fps, but here’s some more of what he had to say about all the versions:

“Honestly, each has their own advantages: the PC will always benefit from the most bleeding edge processors and graphics cards but the Wii U has brand-new ways of interacting via the Gamepad, and the PS3/Xbox 360 versions continue to push those machines to their very limits whilst hooking in to already-popular systems like PSN and Xbox Live.

“So no one single platform wins I’m afraid!”

Ok, so he doesn’t come right out and say “Wii U will be the best experience,” but I can dream right!? I may be reading too much into such apparent praise for the Wii U. What do you guys think? Will this be a day one purchase for you? Let us know in the comments below!
