The Wii U has only been available for a month and a half and the full range of launch titles isn’t out just yet, but of those available, do you have a favorite so far? Your selection should be a game that is currently available or will be released within the 2012 year.
As for me, the main reason I purchased my Wii U was ZombiU. I’ve always been a fan of hardcore games and a zombie-thriller seemed like a no brainer. The difficulty level really appeals to me as a person who enjoys rogue-likes and the absolute level of non-handholding that the game does is a great showcase of Nintendo’s “mature” direction now.
Granted there are a few problems with the game that could be ironed out, but the overall feeling I get while playing ZombiU is second to no other game on the Wii U, or any platform this year. Every time I have to open my backpack, it’s a frantic affair that leaves me with an elevated pulse, hoping I’m not about to become zombie chow while I survey my surroundings. The sheer level of terror that ZombiU is able to convey through game mechanics alone is why I’ve chosen it as my GOTY for the Wii U in 2012. Do you agree?
