When Nintendo revealed the official list of 23 Wii U launch games which will be available on day one, Ubisoft’s gorgeous platformer Rayman Legends wasn’t on that list. But over the past week, there have been some rumors that Rayman Legends would see a November release, or at least very close to launch. But those rumors have now turned out to be false.
Ubisoft confirmed via a press release that Rayman Legends will be released in the first quarter of 2013. Many wrongly believed that the game was a Wii U launch title, but it was always listed as a “launch window title”, with a 2013 date. Ubisoft also released a short statement saying “we are taking the time to make sure we deliver a game that lives up to and hopefully exceeds their expectations”.
Rayman Legends was one of the very first Wii U games to be revealed, and will be released exclusively on the Wii U console. The game will support full 1080p resolution, and feature co-op and multiplayer — for more, check out some screenshots of the game and a slick gameplay trailer.
