White and black Wii U confirmed

Well, that didn’t take long. A day after Nintendo said they would unveil the Wii U console colors next month, a Nintendo rep said to hell with it and already confirmed what we expected: the Wii U will be available on both black and white colors. It’s unknown whether both version will be offered at launch, but it looks like it so far. Nintendo customer service rep Jay Dean broke the news by answering a user email, saying,

“Finally, I can confirm that the Wii U will be released in both Black and White.”

Granted, this doesn’t mean that Nintendo has officially, 100% confirmed the above statement, as it comes from a customer service rep and not the usual PR channels. But it’s happened before where reps of this sort broke news. Everyone was pretty much expecting both colors to be available at launch, since Nintendo has been promoting both of them evenly. Yesterday, Nintendo said that Wii U console colors would be announced in September, which means there’s at least one Wii U color. We’re guessing that Nintendo classifies “black” and “white” as colors — even though they’re technically not — and hopefully both variations will be available at launch.

Which Wii U would you prefer, black or white? Or perhaps something more… colorful? Let us know in the comments section!
