A few months back, famed Nintendo leaker Laura Kate Dale suggested that Ubisoft and Nintendo were working on some type of crossover game between the Ubisoft’s Rabbids and Mario. Although the Switch presentation came and went last month without any concrete confirmation of such a crossover existing, Nintendo might have been more coy about that potential reveal.
One of the focuses for the Nintendo Switch’s upcoming Super Mario Odyssey game is a hat that appears to serve as Mario’s vehicle between the grand locations. Reddit “lucamegh” suggests that the hat is more than a vehicle, but a very large teaser for something much bigger.
As most of us surely know, magicians are famous for pulling rabbits out of their hats during their act. So, with Super Mario Odyssey’s focus thus far being on a mysterious hat, both the giant one and the one on Mario’s head, it stands to reason that the rabbits seen in the trailer might either be Ubisoft’s Rabbids or new foes you’ll encounter.
We should also note that when Laura discussed this rumor, she said that the crossover was a turn-based RPG and it would launch alongside the Switch. Since we already know we’re not getting a Mario title at launch, we’ll remind you to take this all with a grain of salt.
