Splatoon is scheduled to release in May of this year and we’ve already gotten a look at the box art in a very small thumbnail, but Amazon recently uploaded high definition box art which you can see above. I think Nintendo has made good use of the contrasting colors in Splatoon on the box-art to make it pop and there’s little question that Inklings are responsible for all the color. One of the things I like to ask myself is whether or not the box art conveys what the game is about.
I think parents or anyone who is not primarily tuned into what is going on in the game world can instantly understand the nature of the game, so kudos to Nintendo for that. It’s something new from them, so a great visual explanation can go a long way. What do you think?
