Gift Idea: Replay your old favorites on the go with the NES30 controller

nes30

Nintendo has a long history of video games. In fact, a lot of you were probably born well after Nintendo started making games. You don’t remember the glory of the NES controller, of blowing into the cartridge and begging any deity to please make it work this time. Those days are long gone. But the games don’t have to be! Thanks to our handy, dandy note-err smartphones, you can now enjoy those old classics on emulators all day long. The only problem with that is playing old platformers on a touch screen is pretty much the worst.

The NES30 controller can remedy that. It’s a Bluetooth controller that is designed to look like the old NES controllers. It has the same dimensions, the only thing that’s different about it is that it’s added the shoulder buttons that came in on the Super Nintendo and the buttons are labeled on the button instead of the controller. I did a review of this controller a few months ago and I think it would make an excellent gift idea for anyone who loves old games and enjoys playing them either on iOS or Android.

That being said, even if your friend (or you) don’t care about emulation on a smartphone, the NES30 has a mode where it can be set to perform just like a Wii remote. Like playing those virtual console games but hate how the Wii remote feels? This is your solution. The controller is solidly built and has stood the test of time of me using it for about six months now. It’s compatible with every OS under the sun and with the added ability to function as a Wii remote, you’ll never run out of controllers for your Wii U.
