Ubisoft Q1 2014 financials show why it’s abandoning Wii U

Today Ubisoft had a conference meeting for their Q1 2014 results. The biggest take away from the report is that Watch Dogs has managed to ship 8 million units worldwide, despite not being available yet for the Wii U. Aside from that, sales are up 374% over the previous year.

The Wii U and Nintendo 3DS didn’t contribute much to this number however, as you can see the Wii U is only responsible for 3% of sales, while the Nintendo 3DS fared even worse at only 1% of sales for the company. It should be noted that the only Ubisoft release during this quarter for the Wii U was Child of Light, as Watch Dogs has been delayed to an undetermined point in time.
