Awesomenauts could come to Wii U if devs find a port partner

Awesomenauts-2

With the announcement of Swords & Soldiers II for the Wii U, Ronimo Games has been asked if they plan on bringing Awesomenauts to the Wii U. The game was originally an Xbox 360 exclusive in terms of consoles, but the game was later ported to the PlayStation 4 thanks to a partner developer that handled the porting of the code between the two systems. In a recent interview, Ronimo confirmed that they had thought about bringing the title to the Wii U, but that the lack of partner to handle the port has been a factor in why the game isn’t available.

We have. However, we haven’t been able to find a good partner to help us out with the port like we did for PS4.

With the team hard at work on Sword & Soldiers II, it’s possible we could see Awesomenauts in the Wii U eShop if the developer finds someone willing to port the game to the Wii U. As for supporting Nintendo and the Wii U further, Ronimo Games says that depends on the sales of Swords & Soldiers II.

Obviously we love working with Nintendo and their platforms. And we have the theory that the game could do well based on the lack of competition, but it remains a gamble. So before we decide anything else we’ll be looking at the sales Swords & Soldiers II.

Awesomenauts is a 2D MOBA style game with unique characters and arenas that would be a great multiplayer addition to the platform, so here’s to hoping someone steps up and shows interest in bringing the game to the Wii U. If you’re unfamiliar with Awesomenauts, you can find the PS4 trailer below.
