Earlier this week Sniper Elite III was announced for the PlayStation 4 and other platforms. The game is still set in World War 2, but features a new sniper and a new setting. Tasked with stopping the German front moving through Africa, OSS agent Karl Fairburne is sent to North Africa to dispatch several high-ranking German officers. The same highly detailed kill-cam resurfaces, but many fans were left asking about the Wii U.

Sniper Elite v2 was released earlier this year on Nintendo’s Wii U, albeit without the online co-op mode or the spy and sniper missions that made the release so entertaining on other platforms. It’s interesting to see the company has no plans for Wii U at the moment and one has to wonder if that’s not because of the lack of sales for the neutered Sniper Elite v2 release.
