A few days ago we told you that Dead Island: Riptide developers confirmed that the game’s engine works just fine on the Wii U and that they’d be more than willing to do a port of the game for the console, but that it was up to Deep Silver, the game’s publisher. Armed with that knowledge, one fan took the question straight to Deep Silver’s official Twitter account to ask why the game wouldn’t be coming to Wii U and got a very blunt answer. You can see the exchange below.

It’s interesting to see a third party developer admit that it has no interest in the Wii U yet, simply because the numbers don’t work out in their favor. It’s understandable even, as the Wii U has stagnated during its launch window, which ends this March 31st. Most of the games released during this period launched with the console and the only real significant titles that debuted did so this month. Hopefully Nintendo will have something amazing at E3 to show us.
