New Batman Arkham game confirmed for 2013

Time Warner’s investor call took place today with some interesting new news. CFO and chief administrative office John K. Martin confirmed the existence of a new Batman game during the call, stating:

And we also have a strong games release this year, which will include the next release in the Batman Arkham franchise. So all in all, we expect Warners to post another very strong year in 2013. And with a little luck, the year should be as good or maybe even a little bit better than 2012.

Batman: Arkham City was originally a 2011 title for consoles and PC, but it saw a special edition release on the Wii U in 2012. Given that Time Warner ported the game to Wii U as a launch title, it’s possible that we’ll see the new title scheduled to debut this year as a simultaneous release with PC and other consoles.

It’s interesting to note that Time Warner has recently snatched up several domains relating to Batman and the word ‘universe’, so Arkham City Universe could be the focus of the next title. If you’re interested in seeing the complete transcript of the investor call, you can check it out here.
