The Walking Dead FPS headed to Wii U on March 26th

If ZombiU hasn’t zombied you out, then March 26th is a date to mark on your calendars. The Walking Dead: Survival Instinct first person shooter will make its way onto Wii U, along with PS3 Xbox 360 and PC versions. It’s worth noting that the March 26th date is the North American release date; Europeans can expect the game to be available for them on March 29th. Developer Terminal Reality has spoken specifically about the Wii U edition, saying the game is meant to be augmented rather than altered. This comes in the form of more streamlined inventory management using the Wii U GamePad.

“We didn’t want to change the game because the game had already been established, so we tried to say ‘What can we augment with the Wii U version?’ That’s where it’s basically a more elegant inventory management system. With the Wii U you have access to your backpack at all times, so you can tag what weapons you want, you can drop stuff. It’s a lot more streamlined.”

This is the exact same sort of inventory management we saw in ZombiU, were players used the GamePad to sort through their backpacks and drop any unnecessary items. It adds an extra level of tension to the game to look away to manage your inventory, so hopefully Terminal Reality gets this right just as Ubisoft did. Are you excited about this release?
