While the Wii U will be getting the Nintendo TVii app next month in North America, it’s been uncertain whether other territories will receive it at all.
Now Nintendo has announced that select European countries will be getting Nintendo TVii app in the beginning of next year. The news was confirmed by Nintendo UK, which means that the UK will likely be one of the countries/territories to get it.
Nintendo previously said that they were uncertain about Nintendo TVii in Europe because deals with cable and content providers had to be negotiated for each country — and there are dozens in the EU. It’s much easier to bring the service to North America, where only the US and Canada have to be dealt with.
Nintendo TVii integrates television, movies and content streaming, and even DVRs into one place, where users can browse and watch content of all sorts. For more, check out some of the screenshots of the service.
