<\/iframe><\/p>\nWith Nintendo finally getting into online gaming with titles like Splatoon 2 and ARMS, that leaves some gamers wondering whether the company plans on supporting these titles with <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/splatoon-map-changes-tomorrow\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">new content additions<\/a> the way other publishers like EA, Activision, and Ubisoft release updates for their online games. <\/p>\nA recent interview with the game’s producer Kosuke Yabuki and art director Masaaki Ishikawa <a href=\"http:\/\/www.glixel.com\/interviews\/because-nintendo-arms-producer-explains-why-characters-have-stretchy-arms-w487949\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">confirms<\/a> that Nintendo plans on supporting the game for a long time to come, so long as people are interested and keep playing it. The interviewer asks the pair if they plan on adding more content since the game is released and Yabuki had this to say:<\/p>\n<blockquote>Yes, we’re adding more. We have a specific number in mind, but we’re keeping that secret for now. That said, if Arms is still very popular after all those characters have been rolled out and people are still playing it after all that time and they want more characters \u2013 I’ll definitely think about it.<\/p><\/blockquote>\nWith the possibility of more content on the way, the team was also asked whether they plan on revealing the lore behind the series and characters, similarly to what Blizzard has done with Overwatch and Nintendo with the Splatoon series to some extent. Yabuki replied to say they’re slowly <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/arms-dlc-july\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">trickling out content on social media<\/a>, which is the same way the “lore” of Splatoon has been handled.<\/p>\nFor those of you hoping for Overwatch\/TF2 style shorts and comics, I doubt that’s coming any time soon based on his answer.<\/p>\n<blockquote>We’re doing a bit of that right now. So far it’s only happening on Japanese social media, but it’s starting to provide some background on where the arm abilities come from, and we’ve started to talk about why people have stretchy arms in the game. That’s the kind of thing we’re creating to bring a greater sense of reality to the game.
