Back before the Switch launched, Nintendo announced that they were increasing Switch console production to meet the growing pre-order demand. That production increase, of course, wasn’t enough, as the console is still sold out pretty much everywhere.

And now Nintendo has increased production once again. Source tell the Financial Times, quite a reputable publication, that Nintendo has once again increased Switch production.

Not only that, source say that Nintendo now expects to ship 18 million Switch consoles during this fiscal year, which ends on March 31, 2018.

Nintendo themselves are staying conservative: the company officially expects to sell “just” 10 million Switch consoles this fiscal year, and company President Tatsumi Kimishima said that even that might be hard to do.

An increase in production seems quite plausible and even the obvious thing to do, considering that the consumer demand for the Switch is clearly there.
