Nintendo has decidedly won a case against a patent troll who claimed that Miis infringed on their patent for making police sketches of suspects. <\/p>\n

A federal appeals court ruled that the patent should have never been granted in the first place to RecogniCorp, who filed suit against Nintendo.<\/p>\n

The suit was originally filed in 2011, and Nintendo won the case back in 2015<\/a>, but it continued to higher courts. They have now ruled in Nintendo’s favor as well.<\/p>\n

Nintendo has been fighting patent trolls for many years. Just last month the company won a second patent case against a troll<\/a> regarding the 3DS.<\/p>\n

Back in 2014, Nintendo won a case against patent trolls<\/a> regarding the technology used in the Wii Remote. <\/p>\n

Ajay Singh, Nintendo of America\u2019s Director of Litigation and Compliance said of the ruling:<\/p>\n

“The decision marks another case in which Nintendo\u2019s unique ideas overcame unjustified threats of patent infringement.
