Pok\u00e9mon Sun and Moon officially releases in a few days, but some 3DS owners just couldn’t wait that long. They snagged a pirated version in order to play the game early, or just not pay for it, and Nintendo made them pay for it<\/em>.<\/p>\n

Nintendo has been banning the pirates from online play and even from the eShop. <\/p>\n

A leak last week made the game widely available on the Internet, and many 3DS owners took the chance the downloaded it. Most are now regretting this decision, as Nintendo has locked them out of online play and their accounts. <\/p>\n

Not only are they banned from playing Pok\u00e9mon Sun and Moon, they are also banned from accessing the eShop, and they are banned from accessing games they have already purchased on the eShop store. <\/p>\n

Nintendo doesn’t mess around. <\/p>\n

The pirates have complained online that Nintendo went too far, and some even called tech support. But Nintendo isn’t backing down: they stand by the bans and released this statement:<\/p>\n

As a result of a number of Nintendo 3DS users using unauthorized versions of several games, and connecting to the official game servers in violation of our terms of service, these users\u2019 Nintendo 3DS systems that stored the unauthorized game code have been banned from Nintendo\u2019s online network effective immediately.<\/p><\/blockquote>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
