Nintendo has had a busy day at E3 today after letting the other big players have their fun on Monday. Now that the day has drawn to a close, though, it’s time to take a step back and soak it all in. Here’s the quick recap of Nintendo’s day one events in case you missed any of it.<\/p>\n

Super Smash Bros Wii U and 3DS<\/h3>\n
<\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Today we learned that <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/super-smash-bros-wii-u-miis\/\">Nintendo will be implementing Mii avatars into Super Smash Bros Wii U<\/a>! It will be the first time Nintendo has done this for a Smash Brothers game, so it’s exciting to say the least. Unfortunately we learned that the 3DS version of Super Smash Bros <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/smash-bros-3ds-delay-october\/\">suffered a delay to October 3rd<\/a>, while the Wii U version is still only slated for “holiday 2014.”<\/p>\n<h3>Amiibo<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Nintendo - amiibo E3 2014 Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/odUjMhc6YgU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Nintendo also <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/nintendo-amiibo-figurines\/\">revealed a fun new concept called Amiibos<\/a>. These are reminiscent of the Disney Infinity and Skylander figurines that allow you to collect characters for use in your games. Super Smash Bros Wii U will be the first with this functionality, with more games (Nintendo hinted at Mario Kart) slated to get support down the line,<\/p>\n<h3>Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wii U - Captain Toad: Treasure Tracker E3 2014 Announcement Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/m91qkP5ZaN8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Captain Toad’s Treasure Tracker was <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/captain-toads-treasure-tracker-announced\/\">introduced<\/a> as a way to celebrate the Captain Toad levels in Super Mario 3D World. It’s a puzzle-platformer that should help give your brain a good workout.<\/p>\n<h3>Bayonetta 2<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wii U - Bayonetta 2 E3 2014 Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/DvP4EFjagfU?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>We were <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/bayonetta-2-will-include-the-original-game-on-wii-u\/\">treated to new gameplay footage of Bayonetta 2<\/a>, but Nintendo had a very exciting announcement for those who are planning to pick it up — the original game will be included in the package! Talk about great value.<\/p>\n<h3>Legend of Zelda Wii U<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"ZELDA WII U Trailer E3 2014 LEGEND OF ZELDA GAMEPLAY\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/mM9MGY2OL8o?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This was perhaps the most exciting moment of all — <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/legend-of-zelda-wii-u-release-date\/\">the revelation of Zelda for the Wii U.<\/a> The game is said to feature open world adventuring fun, and a charming art style that shows off lush environments and one of the most epic Link character models we’ve ever seen. It’ll be here at some point next year.<\/p>\n<h3>Mario Maker<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wii U - Mario Maker E3 2014 Announcement Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/NLS458ekSEI?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>Ever wished you could make your own Mario game?<a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/mario-maker-wii-u\/\"> Mario Maker is here<\/a> to save the day. Nintendo has given us a way to make tons of fun, great 2D Mario levels using classic props and elements from the original 2D games. Let’s hope this comes equipped with online features that’ll let you share levels with friends.<\/p>\n<h3>Splatoon<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"E3 2014 - Teaser Trailer for Splatoon\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/8L54s2m1dPs?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>This game <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/splatoon-wii-u-e3-2014-trailer\/\">almost stole the show<\/a>. <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/legend-of-zelda-wii-u-release-date\/\">Almost<\/a>. Splatoon is a new third-person shooter by Nintendo — sounds weird, right? Of course, it comes in with charming looks and a great colorful, vibrant art style. This unique game has you using ink to travel around and battle other squids. Things get so messy that it would make Sunshine Mario cry.<\/p>\n<h3>Xenoblade Chronicles X<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wii U - Xenoblade Chronicles X E3 2014 Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/Hg2PTVi7fl8?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>A new entry in the Xenoblade series was <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/xenoblade-chronicles-x-coming-in-2015-video\/\">introduced today<\/a>, and it looks quite good. Xenoblade Chronicles X probably won’t be turning a ton of heads, but this should be a wonderful addition to Nintendo’s lineup next year.<\/p>\n<h3>Devil’s Third<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wii U - Devil's Third E3 2014 Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/7yTldFe2m-A?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p>And last but not least, <a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/devils-third-announced\/\">Devil’s Third<\/a>. Finally, a developer not afraid to bring back some good, wholesome, old school action. Devil’s Third is Itagaki’s latest creation, and it’s poised to bring not only a robust single player, but a very deep multiplayer experience, as well. Players will have tons of exciting weapons and apparel to customize their characters with as they brawl their way through hordes of baddies.<\/p>\n<h3>Kirby and the Rainbow Curse<\/h3>\n<p><iframe loading=\"lazy\" title=\"Wii U - Kirby and the Rainbow Curse E3 2014 Announcement Trailer\" width=\"800\" height=\"450\" src=\"https:\/\/www.youtube.com\/embed\/RqEOsvTmcoE?feature=oembed\" frameborder=\"0\" allow=\"accelerometer; autoplay; clipboard-write; encrypted-media; gyroscope; picture-in-picture; web-share\" allowfullscreen><\/iframe><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/nintendotoday.com\/2014\/06\/kirby-rainbow-curse-e3-2014\/\">New Kirby game<\/a>. Need I say more?<\/p>\n<h3>That’s a wrap!<\/h3>\n<p>E3 obviously isn’t over, and if Reggie Fils-Aime’s comments at the post-show Q&A is anything to go by then Nintendo might have a lot more to show us before it’s all said and done.
