Over the past few weeks we’ve been watching Japanese sales charts closely, as the PlayStation 4 launched in Japan. The first week for the console was a strong one, but the second week saw the console losing 80% of its sales momentum. This week the slide isn’t so drastic, but a drop of around 50% did occur. The real surprise here is that the PS Vita has managed to edge out the Nintendo 3DS to claim the second spot.

Looking at software, we see that’s because of the release of Soul Sacrifice Delta, a Monster Hunter alike that Japan seems to enjoy. The only Wii U title to make the top 20 was Donkey Kong Country: Tropical Freeze, which sits at spot number 15 with 6.7k sales.
