Japanese analyst is more optimistic about Switch sales than Nintendo

Nintendo’s officially forecasts Switch sales to 37 million units by March 2019, but Japanese tech analyst Hideki Yasuda from Ace Economic Research Institute in Osaka thinks that’s not enough.

He believes that Switch sales will stand at a massive 42 million units by March 2019. In this current fiscal year, he estimates Nintendo will ship 25 million Switch consoles and 140 million software units.

His report (found here) suggests that Switch manufacturing will increase this Summer and fuel more Switch sales over the Summer and the all-important holiday shopping season.

When Nintendo first talked about the Switch selling over 100 million units, many of us were highly skeptical. Now it seems they were on to something — the Switch’s sales momentum is continuing and Nintendo’s share price has doubled since the release of the console.
